We recently corrected a problem with spam scoring and filtering for email.
First, a description of the symptoms. If you tried to send outgoing email, you may have found that occasionally it would not go, and you'd get an error message that your email "smelled spammy to all local recipients". That was especially ironic because the problem actually only happened when there were no local recipients. As a few people found out, the workaround was to BCC yourself on the message. Another manifestation of the problem affected messages coming from outside. They would intermittently be rejected back to the sender with the same sort of error message. The latter case affected only local addresses that were "autoforward only" with no local mailbox or domains with "catch all" wild card addressing.
A few weeks ago, we temporarily disabled part of our spam scoring for email. It's better to receive more spam than to fail to receive legitimate email. So, you may have seen an uptick in your spam volume, depending on your personal settings for spam scoring thresholds. If you did, sorry about that! The original bug has now been fixed, and full spam scoring has been re-enabled. As usual, for this or any other problems, please notify us by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or via the contact page: Contact AcceptIO
